La Azucarera expo 2017

This contemporary fine art exhibition makes the most of the sugar factory’s spectacular interior and includes paintings, sculpture, artistic photography and mesmerising installations. The resplendent 19th century building of Museo Industrial de Azúcar Ntra Sra del Pilar, Motril, is also celebrating the sixth anniversary of its renovations on Saturday 25 November. The dignitaries of Motril, will be there to inaugurate this exciting group art exhibition. Come along and enjoy taking in the art to live chill-out music from Toni Connolly and Luis Gomez, who will be playing guitar, keyboard, flute and saxophone.

Emma Plunkett, head of Acompalia Artistica, comments: “I chose the sugar factory because it is such a stunning setting for the cream of creative talent, to exhibit their vast range of thought-provoking artworks. This will be one of the area’s largest gathering of artists this year.”

For the duration of the exhibition, musical events will take place every Saturday evening.

The Curator

A Word From Gareth Lister

This old factory has been converted into a wonderful exhibiting space. Enabling us an opportunity to put on a large and complex show. A collection of art works from fifty artists, diverse in all ways. It would have been a pointless task to try to pin down themes or subjects from so many individual points of expression. So how could I bring clarity to the presentation?
