Presentation to the press of #LaAzucarera, charity exhibition for Acompalia
On the morning of Monday, November 20th, in Motril City Hall, Acompalia and Motril Town Hall organised a press conference to officially present to the media the Contemporary Art Exhibition organised in favor of ACOMPALIA.
Francisco Ruíz, Motril Culture Counsellor, opened the press conference by presenting to the Local Television and the media the enchanting Charitable Fine Art Exhibition of more than 50 artists that Acompalia Artística has organised in the majestic building of the “Museo del Azúcar” located in the “Fábrica del Pilar” of Motril.
Together with the Culture Counsellor, Françoise Rajewski, President of Acompalia, Emma Plunkett, Director of Acompalia Artística and organiser of this Exhibition and Mabel Tarragona, Secretary of Acompalia, communicated the important work that this Organisation carries out in favour of people with terminal illness, as well as their families and caregivers, offering accompaniment and alternative therapies to improve their quality of life.
They highlighted the need for help, both with volunteering to continue carrying out their social work as well as raising funds to ensure their continuity.
And this is exactly why Emma volunteered to put together this exhibition, whose main objectives are to make this Organisation more visible within the municipal area where Acompalia aims to build a Centre for Palliative Care, as well as raising funds for its social work.
The Motril City Council was thanked for providing gratuitously a space of such historical and aesthetic importance as the Museo del Azúcar, to highlight even more the works of the participating artists, as well as for its help and collaboration in organising such a complex exhibition due to the high number of participants.
The Exhibition will remain open to the public until December 16th, Wednesday to Saturday from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm with, every Saturday, a live music performance.
Next to the museum, inside the sugar factory, you will find the Restaurant Museo del Azúcar, which is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants with gastro-bar in the area.
