The Garden Open Day Charity Event

The Jardín de La Alpujarra is a beautiful garden run by Acompalia supporters Robert and William. They are teaming up with the Orgiva Tea Garden and the Jardín Nevada) to mount a fundraising event on the 27th and 28th May 2017, from 10:00 till 19:00

Robert & William told us: “Up until now, the three gardens – the Orgiva Tea Garden in Cortijo las Chimeneas, the Jardín Nevada in Nevada Naturales Lanjarón and ourselves have been open to visitors on different days and for different events. However, we are now joining forces with the two other gardens and have chosen to all be open at the same time for a weekend in late May.  This will enable visitors to the region – and those of us lucky enough to live here – to take the opportunity to visit each garden project on the same day or during the same weekend. A single entrance fee €5 per person will be charged, and this will allow access to all three gardens.”

“Our plan is to divide the income from the event equally between the three charities that we support:  Valle Verde Dog Rescue (supported by Nevada Naturales of Lanjarón), Chocolatada , raising money for children in South America (supported by Orgiva Tea Garden) and Acompalia (supported by Jardín de la Alpujarra)”, said Robert.

Acompalia is really looking forward to this event. So come with us to explore nature at its best. Treat yourself to some magical moments in these beautiful gardens and learn more about the magical Alpujarras. As well as celebrating Spring, visitors can also enjoy pleasant music from the group ‘La Ley de Murphy’.

Information about the Jardin de la Alpurra garden
We are a group of like-minded horticulturalists living in Andalucia, Spain and we enjoy opening our gardens to visitors on either a regular or occasional basis. We are situated at a altitude of 1250 metres just outside the village of Pórtugos, and we can grow a quite exceptional range of plants here. For the last ten years the garden has been open most Fridays.  As William and Robert are both keen cooks as well as gardeners, you are sure to find something to please both the eye and the palate.
