What if you could join Acompalia as volunteer in the Hospital

We all have a friend who can’t stop talking about how helping others by volunteering has changed their lifes. From Acompalia we can only tell you: they are absolutely right!

After several months of intense work to bring to norms our Association on many fronts from an administrative point of view, compliance, transparency and urgency taking front stage, in order to be able to start the year with a healthier slate, this February we are ready to “up one gear” our efforts in terms of Social work, with renewed enthusiasm.

We have redacted, presented and filed to the different authorities the different memorandum summarising our activities, accounts and balances and are now fully able to dedicate ourselves to what motivates us – the board- and all our volunteers, our real driving force, Palliative Care.

The Motril Santa Ana Hospital and Acompalia have signed a collaboration agreement enabling us to fully develop a volunteer program aimed at hospitalised patients with terminal illness, as well as their relatives and caregivers.

With this volunteer program, we aim to offer for free buddying services and emotional support to the patients, respite to the family and the caregivers, fun and entertaining activities, natural and complementary therapies, a range of wellness and better being activities, such as massage or hairdressing, manicure, etc. We will do our utmost to continue offering also legal information and translation to patients of other nationalities.

We yearn to improve the well-being, health and quality of life of these patients, by focusing on Positivity and creating as many joyful memories to their numbered days.

If you think you can help with any of these services, if you believe that volunteering within the community is the driving force to a better tomorrow, then contact us. If unfortunately, at present you do not have the time to help, we urge you to share this information so that it may reach the next Acompalia volunteer. Help us help others!

“Who has health has hope, and who has hope has everything”

Thomas Carlyle

Soon we will post on our website the different brochures we have designed to help you define which kind of volunteering resonates best with you, and we will appreciate you sharing them with all your contacts. Sharing is caring!

In addition, as soon as they are approved by the Junta de Andalucía, we will publish the balances and pending annual accounts to fulfil our desire and obligation to offer the greatest possible transparency.

A very warm greeting to each and everyone of you
