The opening night is going to be an event to remember! We will be joined by the dignitaries of Motril as well as our beloved Acompalia Artistica artists, who have all made this event possible. Musicians, Toni Connolly and Luis Gomez will be playing live acid jazz, as graceful circus performers twirl from the ceiling.
Put the date in your diaries! And let all your art loving friends know about it.
We have 50 artists eager to show you their artworks in this resplendent building. Paintings, projections, installations and sculptures will adorn this huge beautiful space. The artworks have been carefully chosen by curator Gareth Lister, whose highly trained eye is tuned into the subtle artistic depths. The whole exhibition has been orchestrated by Acompalia Artistica leader Emma Plunkett, with endless support from her husband, Jan Pozivil. Everybody supporting this event is working on a voluntary basis.
Opening times: Wednesday to Saturday, 7-10pm
Get a glimpse into each artists world, as you explore their artist profile pages. Though seeing artwork on a screen is no substitute for experiencing it live. There will be a limited amount of glossy, keep-sake, brochures available for a donation, with a page for each artist. Like a directory of the artists.
There will be chairs provided, so you can sit and enjoy your favourite pieces and take your time digesting them. There is wheel chair access if you should so need it, with a lift to the first floor.
For the duration of the exhibition, musical events will take place every Saturday evening from 7–10pm. Check the music pages to find out about what type of music will be playing.
The interior of the Sugar Factory is a work of art in itself and is worth visiting. Old machine parts have been restored and presented alongside the art.
Directions: The Sugar Factory is on the road that goes from Alcampo, uphill towards the hospital. The entrance is through the Azucarera Restaurant, round the back from Calle Roma. Parking is on the street.
